About Doxie Warehouse

Most dog products are designed for the average dog. The average dog has four legs of roughly equal length, a proportional torso, and a neck that lines up sensibly with the rest of their body.

Dachshunds are not the average dog.

They have a spine that stretches nearly twice the length you'd expect for their height. Legs so short their belly almost grazes the ground. A chest so deep that standard harnesses either slip off, ride up, or rub them raw within a block. And an attitude that suggests they are completely unaware of any of this.

We noticed something that any dachshund owner eventually notices: the pet industry largely treats dachshunds as small dogs, slaps them in gear designed for small dogs, and calls it a day. The results are harnesses that don't fit, sweaters that leave their backs exposed, and collars that put pressure exactly where it shouldn't go on a breed already prone to spinal issues.

So we built something better.

What We Do

Doxie Warehouse makes products designed exclusively for dachshunds. Not adapted from a generic template, not scaled down from a larger breed — built from scratch with dachshund proportions as the starting point.

That means harnesses engineered for deep chests and short legs with padded underarms and chest-first pressure distribution. Sweaters with extra length and back leg straps that actually stay on. Gear that fits the dog in front of you, not a theoretical average dog that looks nothing like them.

Every product goes through the same filter: does it actually work for a dachshund's body? If the answer isn't a clear yes, it doesn't make it into the store.

Giving Back

A portion of every order goes to Portland Dachshund Rescue — an organization doing the hard, unglamorous work of pulling dachshunds from shelters, covering their medical care, and finding them the right homes.

Dachshunds end up in rescue for a lot of reasons. Sometimes their owners underestimated the stubbornness. Sometimes there were health issues no one was prepared for. Sometimes life just changed. Portland Dachshund Rescue shows up for those dogs regardless.

We're proud to support them with every order that comes through.

A Note on Quality

We know dachshund owners are particular. You've bought the wrong harness before - the one that slipped, or chafed, or your dog refused to walk in. You've bought the sweater that left half their back exposed. You've learned to be skeptical.

We take that seriously. Our harness alone has over 500 reviews from dachshund owners who had tried everything else first. We're not interested in selling you something that ends up in a drawer. We want it to actually work.

If it doesn't - we'll make it right. That's not a policy, it's just how we operate.

Thank You

Whether you found us through an ad, a recommendation from another dachshund owner, or a very targeted Google search at midnight — we're glad you're here.

These dogs deserve gear that fits. That's the whole thing.
