Neck
Wrap a soft tape around the base of the neck where a collar would sit.
Chest
Measure around the deepest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Snug, not tight
You should be able to slide one finger between the tape and your dog.
No measuring tape?
Use a piece of string, then measure the string against a ruler.
Good questions
Everything you might be wondering.
How do I know what size to order?
Weight gives a starting point, but every doxie's build is different. We always recommend measuring the neck and chest with a soft tape, then matching to the size chart above.
Between sizes? Chest is the most important measurement.
Still not sure? Email us your doxie's measurements at info@doxiewarehouse.com and we'll recommend the right fit.
What if it doesn't fit?
Exchanges are always free. If the size isn't right, send it back and we'll get the right one out to you, no charge.
If you'd rather return for a refund, there's a flat $6 handling fee.
Is this safe for dachshunds with sensitive backs?
The Doxie Harness was designed to spread pressure across the chest and ribcage rather than the neck or spine, which is why so many of our customers choose it for sensitive doxies.
That said, we're not vets. If your dachshund has been diagnosed with a back condition, we always recommend checking with yours before introducing any new gear.
Which leash attachment should I use?
The front clip helps reduce pulling by guiding your doxie from the chest. Great for strong pullers or training.
The back clip offers more freedom and works best for doxies who walk calmly beside you.
What's it made of?
Soft stretch poly base, nylon webbing straps, and coated carbon steel D-rings. Side-release buckles are reinforced plastic.
Lightweight enough for everyday wear, built to hold up to real-world pulls.
How do I clean it?
Hand wash with soap and warm water, then air dry. That's it.
